I don't dare believe it's true.

Have you ever wanted something so bad, for so long, that when it suddenly appears to be within your grasp, you don't quite believe it's true? Have you ever spent years dreaming of something, watching others get theirs, while you waited, impatiently, for yours to arrive - confused as to why others had their opportunity when you've been waiting longer, when yours was the original, when yours should've been first? And then, one day, you find it. And, since you've been waiting so long, you don't quite believe it's true. You wonder if it's a mirage. A trick being played on your eyes - on your heart, really - by a couple thousand evil pixels. You're afraid to exhale for fear it will disappear. You email your closest, most trusted confidants to verify you're still dealing with reality. You eagerly await the next day so you can check again and make sure it wasn't all a dream.

That's how I feel right now.

I was on amazon, checking out Grey's Anatomy DVDs. Just as I was about to leave the site, I decided to conduct the search I've conducted every 4-6 months for the last several years. I accept that I will likely be disappointed yet again. But there's still the tiniest bit of hope. For, if we have not hope, we have nothing. So I type in the letters. And I go through the motions of clicking on the links.

And I stop in my (mouse)tracks. Does that really say "The Complete First Season"?! And it's not a bootleg version? Can it really be?! After all these years, is it really true?!

I'm scared to say the words out loud for fear of crushing the illusion. But it seems to be so!!!

My heart is beating so fast, I can barely breathe. This is the HAPPIEST DAY EVER!!!

Okay, second happiest. Apparently Nov. 7 will be the happiest.

Enjoy, my friends. Enjoy the original. The leader. The best. The trendsetter. The model and the mold from which all of our other favourite stemmed. Enjoy the greatest television show ever made, again. Starting Nov. 7.
